Competition Rules and Information

Welcome to the competitions rules and information section.

Competition Deadlines

  • Each competition round will be given a deadline when the draw is posted - This is the last date the match can be played on!
  • Matches can be played before the deadline by prior arrangment between both players/teams - see re-arranging matches.
  • Home players should check that the table is available on the deadline date and make every effort to re-arrange their match if it is not.

Submitting Competiton Results

  • Results must be submitted to the competition secretary within 24hours of the deadline, via text message or e-mail.
  • Results not submitted by text or e-mail within 24 hours of the deadline, will result in both players/teams being eliminated from the competiton.
  • The winning player/team of the match is responsible for submitting the result.
  • The text or e-mail must state the competition name, winners name(s) and the score of the match (eg. Doubles Comp R1 Result, Donald Duck beat Mickey Mouse 3-1).

Competition Venues

  • Unless previously stated when the draw is posted - The match is expected to be played at the home players venue - see re-arranging matches.
  • Home players are responsible for the availability and condition of the table.
  • Home players are responsible for the table fees (or getting the table opened).

Re-arranging Matches

  • Players wishing to re-arrange their match should contact their opponent(s) and offer some alternative dates/times to play the match.
  • The Date, Time and Venue for a match can be re-arranged, but the match must be played prior to the deadline.
  • Venues can be changed, but they must be League venues and it is still the original home players responsibility for table availability (consider if other competitions have already been scheduled for the new venue).
  • Contact should be made in good time to allow your opponent to consider your request, short notice requests give your opponent little opportunity to change their plans and are more likely to be rejected.
  • If both players/teams cannot agree, then the match should take place at 8pm at the home players venue.
  • Semi-finals and Finals cannot be re-arranged between the players/teams - contact the competitions secretary if you have a problem with the date/time issued.

Competition Draws

  • Draws will take place on the internet on a web site called http://www.random-draw.com . A link to each draw will be posted on the main competitions page a few days prior to the draw taking place. You'll be able to click the link and watch the draw take place at the predetermined date and time.  - this should speed up the time in getting the draws onto the site.

Claiming Matches

You can claim an un-played match by text or e-mail under the following circumstances:

  • Your opponent did not turn up at the agreed venue within 1 hour of the agreed time (eg. 9pm for any non re-arranged matches);
  • Your opponent has conceeded the match to you directly (eg. My work commitments have changed and I can't play our match);
  • The table was not available at the agreed venue (eg. The pub had a band on so the table was closed) - Away player only.

Please note; We all play pool to compete, meet people, see different pubs/clubs and have fun. All players should make every effort to play their competition matches in a sportsman like manner and within the deadline.

Competition Referees

  • We expect all competitions to be played in a sportsman like and respectful manner.
  • We will aim to provide league representatives at competition Final matches.
  • Referees are not required for competitions, though if agreed by both players/teams a volunteer referee can be used.

Extreme Circumstances and Disputes

  • The smooth running of competitions relies on the above rules/guidance being adhered to by all players, which is why we hope to avoid extreme circumstances and disputes. Please text or e-mail the competition secretary as soon as you are aware of any extreme circumstances or disputes that are affecting the smooth running of competitions.
  • In all circumstances the decisions of the League Committee will be final.
